The first son of prominent West Bank MP Sheikh Hassan Yousef, founder of the Hamas terrorist organization, caused a buzz on the internet after the break of the news about his exit from the group and recent conversion to Christianity.

Mosab Hassan Yousef discussed his conversion to Christianity in an interview with the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

Yousef said his first exposure to Christianity came in Jerusalem several years ago, when he was invited to learn about the faith. He converted some years later, but did not tell his father.

His father, Sheikh Yousef, was a founder of the Palestinian extremist group Hamas, and was imprisoned for several years for his membership in the organization.

A high-profile Hamas critic, and son of one the group’s leaders, struck out at the terrorist group for its “worship of death” and its plans to establish a global caliphate.

In an interview with CNN, the Christian ‘Son of Hamas’ writer, also expressed his thoughts about Hamas’ impact on the current state of Israel regarding the relationship between Arabs and the Jewish people.

“Hamas does not care about the lives of Palestinians, or the lives of Israelis, or Americans; they don’t care about their own lives,” Yousef said. “They consider dying for their ideology a way of worship.

“Hamas is not seeking coexistence and compromise; Hamas is seeking conquest,” he added. “The destruction of the state of Israel is not the Hamas final destination.”

Hamas, Yousef asserted, wants to build an Islamic state “on the rubble of every other civilization.”
