DAY 29 — THE GOSPEL: OUR ONLY MESSAGE AND MISSION
Date: Thursday, January 29, 2026

Focus Scripture:
“But we preach Christ crucified… Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” — 1 Corinthians 1:23–24

What You Will Walk Away With

  1. Unshakable conviction that the Gospel is the Church’s singular, non-negotiable message—not one option among many.
  2. Courage to keep Christ crucified central, despite cultural resistance or pressure to soften the message.
  3. Dependence on the truth that God’s saving power operates through the Gospel itself, not through human wisdom, strategy, or eloquence.

In a world saturated with opinions, ideologies, and competing messages, the Church must remain simply clear about what it has been entrusted with. Our calling is not to invent a new message for every generation, but to faithfully proclaim the one message God has already given—the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Paul declares with bold simplicity: “We preach Christ crucified.” This message was offensive to some, foolish to others, and unimpressive by human standards. Yet it carried the very power and wisdom of God. The temptation in every age is to adjust the message to make it more acceptable, more attractive, or more palatable. But when the gospel is altered, its power is diminished.

The Church does not save through creativity, relevance, or persuasion alone. Salvation comes through Christ—His cross, His resurrection, and His redeeming grace. The gospel is not one message among many; it is the only message that reconciles humanity to God. Our mission flows directly from this truth. If the gospel is our only message, then proclaiming it must be our highest priority. Programs may change. Methods may adapt. Cultures may shift. But Christ crucified must remain at the center.

When the Church keeps the gospel central, God’s power is released—not through human brilliance, but through divine grace.

Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Keep my heart anchored in the simplicity and power of Your gospel.
Deliver Your Church from distraction and compromise.
Help us to boldly proclaim Christ crucified in every season.
Amen.

Declaration

  • I declare that the gospel of Jesus Christ is my only message and my defining mission.
  • I declare that I am not ashamed of the cross, for it is the power of God for salvation.
  • I declare that through the proclamation of Christ, God’s wisdom and power are revealed, transforming lives.

Action Points

  1. Examine your personal testimony and conversations. Does the core message of “Christ crucified” for sin and resurrection for new life remain unmistakably central, or is it often obscured by other topics?
  2. Resist the subtle temptation to downplay the cross, sin, or repentance to make the Gospel more acceptable in a specific relationship or setting. Pray for boldness to uphold the message in its fullness.
  3. Speak the message of Christ this week with both humility (recognizing you are a messenger) and boldness (trusting in the message’s inherent power). Look for one opportunity to share the core truth of the Gospel.

Memory Verse
“But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;” — 1 Corinthians 1:23

  • When have you seen the “foolish” message of the cross demonstrate God’s power in a surprising way?
