Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo is the founder and Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London, and Chancellor, King’s University, Ode-Omu, Osun State.

Born 17 March 1952 to Muslim parents in Kaduna, Nigeria, Pastor Ashimolowo converted to Christianity from Islam at the age of 22 after the death of his father before enrolling with a Bible school.

Church Project:

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo is the Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre; the church started out in 1992 with 11 members but has grown to over 12,000 members. Pastor Matthew as he is fondly called is a dynamic and charismatic preacher having preached for over 27 years.

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo got saved at the age of 22, in a drunken state, after which he went to Bible school in Lagos to further his career as a minister of the gospel.

After Bible school, he began as an assistant Pastor in Foursquare Gospel church, after which he was moved to the UK, where he started his own ministry.

KICC started in a school hall in North London with only 11 members, the membership of the church grew and the church had to move to Hackney town centre after which the church bought a building at Mare Street. This building later became too small, the current building is located at 57 Waterden Road.

Pastor Matthew is a man of excellence and this is evident in the lives of the members of KICC.

He is notable for his radio programme called the Winning Ways. His Winning Ways programme is aired on daily basis on Premier Radio (London) and Spirit FM (Amsterdam) and on television in Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, TV Africa, the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and Europe on The God Channel and Inspirational Network.

Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) is the Proprietor of Kings University, Ode-Omu, Osun State, Nigeria.

Pastor Ashimolowo is married to Pastor Yemisi and together they have four children. Pastor Yemisi is the host of the Winning Women’s ministry.
