Police have confirmed that former Patriot’s tight end Aaron Hernandez smeared the bible verse John 3:16 across his wall before he committed suicide, US News reports.
A reference to the same verse was also written in ink on his face, a new report detailed. A Bible was also found left open, with that verse marked in blood.
Hernandez had just been cleared of a double murder but was serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder of Odin Lloyd.
Notes found on the walls of his cell reportedly said he was entering the “timeless realm” and would see his family in heaven, that he loved his family, and that they should not shed a tear.
