Pastor Andy Stanley is the founder and senior pastor of North Point Community Church, Buckhead Church, Browns Bridge Church, Gwinnett Church, Woodstock City Church, and Decatur City Church.
A Communicator, Author and Pastor, he also founded North Point Ministries, which is a worldwide Christian organization.
Stanley was born (Charles Andrew “Andy” Stanley) on May 16, 1958 by Anna J. Stanley and Dr. Charles Stanley, who is the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta and founder of InTouch Ministries.
Education And Ministry
Stanley received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Georgia State University and later earned a master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.
After working for several years as Associate Pastor and Minister to Students at First Baptist Church Atlanta, he and five others founded North Point Community Church in 1995. Today, NPM is comprised of seven churches in the Atlanta area and a network of 90 churches around the globe, collectively serving nearly 185,000 people weekly, making it one of the largest churches in the United States, according to the Ministry’s website.
Author of not less than twenty books, Pastor Stanley was in January 2009, selected to be the fourth speaker at the National Prayer Service following the Presidential inauguration.
In addition, Andy Stanley has been a frequent speaker at Willow Creek Association’s Global Leadership Summit. The Summit was founded by Bill Hybels in 1995.
A survey of U.S. pastors in Outreach Magazine identified Andy Stanley as one of the top 10 most influential living pastors in America.
Pastor Stanley with his wife Sandra have three adult children: Andrew, Garrett, and Allie, and they live in Milton, Georgia.
