“When I grew up, I didn’t look at God as a loving, caring personality, for me, he was this authoritative dictator who was always out to get me”.
Robby Gallaty was a heroin addict and distributor. He finally got clean after turning over his life to Christ. Today he pastors a mega church outside of Nashville.
For years, he battled a drug addiction that ravaged his life. A $180 a day heroin and cocaine addiction forced him to steal $15,000 from his parents. After living without gas, electricity, and water for months because of a ghastly accident, losing 8 of his friends to drug related deaths, watching 6 friends arrested, and completing two rehab treatments, Robby remembered the gospel that was shared with him by a friend in college and was radically saved out of a life of drug addiction on November 12, 2002.

Eight months later, a young seminary student named David Platt asked Robby to meet weekly for accountability, prayer, and Bible study. For the next 2 years, David instilled a passion for missions, expository preaching, and disciple-making in Robby’s life.
Platt also encouraged Robby to go back to school to pursue theological education.

Today, Robby’s gospel conviction and evangelistic zeal drive him to passionately “make disciples who make disciples.”
The Disciple’s Study Bible is the tool he’s designed to help do that.
In addition to his leadership at Long Hollow, Robby is also the founder of Replicate Ministries and the author of several books, including Growing Up, Firmly Planted, and Rediscovering Discipleship.
