Preach The Gospel On Election Day – Christian Group Encourages People

Many Christians are discouraged with the direction the U.S. is headed while many others are unhappy about the candidate choices in this election, but one Christian group is reminding people to have an eternal perspective.

The Christian group ‘Meet the Need’ is hoping to shift the focus on Election Day to what is most important.

To that end, Meet the Need is encouraging Christians to look beyond who ends up in the White House and to instead focus on extending kindness to neighbors, friends, and family and to share the gospel with those they come into contact with.

Participants in the event can share their stories on social media by using the hashtag #CastAnEternalVote. Participants can also challenge their friends to get involved.

“Neither candidate stands solidly in the Christian camp on the issues most of us hold dear,” said Meet the Need Ministries President Jim Morgan. “That’s left many of us wondering about the future of our country—yet feeling powerless to do much about it.”

“We can only cast one vote for president but we can cast countless Eternal Votes—simple acts of service in Jesus name that will have an impact lasting far longer than just the next four years,” he continued.

Morgan shared that the inspiration for the event came from Matthew 20:25-26 which says: “But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant.”

“As the winds of political and moral change are blowing—no doubt Christians face stiff headwinds,” said Morgan. “Our task is to engage in the culture war—but the most powerful weapon at our disposal is the love of Jesus Christ.”
