Gospel Televangelist Paula White To Pray At Trump’s Inauguration

Televangelist Paula White is to be one of the six clergy members who will speak and pray at Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20. White is known for promoting the prosperity gospel.

The prosperity gospel says that God wants you to be wealthy and that wealth has a direct correlation to God’s blessing.

White’s website tells readers that when they send a gift–called a “seed offering”– to the ministry, they will be blessed.

“When we receive your seed we have a very powerful Word from the Lord that we will send to you,” the site says. “We want to show our Gratitude to you and to help you grow in your Attitude of Gratitude.”

White has been a firm supporter of Trump since he announced his candidacy. She has gathered with other religious leaders multiple times to pray over Trump. She has also affirmed that he is a Christian.

“I can absolutely tell you that Mr. Trump has a relationship with God,” she told Politico in July of this year. “He is a Christian, he accepts Jesus as his Lord and savior.”

Trump has also had glowing praise for White:

“Paula White is not only a beautiful person, both inside and out, she has a significant message to offer anyone who will tune in and pay attention,” he stated. “She has amazing insight, the ability to deliver that message clearly, as well as powerfully.”

But because of the shadiness of White’s ministry and message, in 2009 the U.S. Senate investigated White for possible illegal fundraising practices, according to TheDailyBeast.com.

Although not enough conclusive evidence was found, White remains a controversial figure. She will be present at Trump’s inauguration, along with Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Rabbi Marvin Hier, Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, and Rev. Franklin Graham.
