Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah

Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah is the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost worldwide and the President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC).

He was born on July 22, 1954 at Aduman, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Theological Studies from the University of Birmingham (2002) and a Master of Theology in Applied Theology at Regents Theological College (offered by the University of Manchester, 1998).

On the global front, he is a Commissioner of World Mission and Evangelism of the World Council of Churches and also serves as the Co-Chairman of Empowered21, Africa.

Apostle Opoku Onyinah, now a professor, was called into the full-time ministry of The Church of Pentecost in 1976 and has since served in various capacities, including Rector of Pentecost University College, Executive Council Member, International Missions Director, and an Adjunct Lecturer at the Pentecost Bible Training Centre (now Pentecost Theological Seminary).

He was called into the ministry of The Church of Pentecost in 1976 from Tamale, Northern Ghana.

His first station was Waas District Overseer from 1976-1981.

His successive post as a minister of God were; Kumasi as District Pastor from 1981-1984, He as Regional Head from 1984-1986, London-UK for further studies from 1986-1988, Koforidua as Regional Head from 1988-1991, Headquarters as the 1st International Missions Director (IMD) from 1991-1996, London-UK for further studies from 1996-2002, Pentecost University College as Rector from 2002-2008 and finally as Chairman of The Church of Pentecost-Worldwide from 2008 to Date.

He is the author of numerous books and articles including: “Pentecostals & Charismatics,”“Spiritual Warfare,” “Resting In The Lord,” “Are Two Persons The Same?” “Pressure of Success,” “Taking The Ultimate Step In Marriage” and “African Christianity In The 21st Century.”

Prof. Opoku is married to Grace Opoku Onyinah, and together they have been blessed with five children.
